Legal Opinions

The Supreme Administrative Court may issue legal opinions to support legislative drafting at the request of the Government or other state authorities. The Supreme Administrative Court may also submit proposals to the Government for legislative action.

In addition, upon request, the Supreme Administrative Court issues legal opinions to the President of the Republic of Finland on acts adopted by Parliament.

Each year the Supreme Administrative Court is requested to provide dozens of legal opinions related to legislative drafts.

Legal opinions are mainly published in Finnish. Opinions on the Åland Islands are published in Swedish.
