Finality of the decision

Finality means that a decision made by a court or public authority can no longer be amended or annulled.

When an interested party requests a public authority to enforce a decision concerning him or her, the authority may first require them to provide proof that no appeal has been lodged against the decision within the appeal period.

The Supreme Administrative Court may issue a certificate of finality only in respect of the decision that is subject to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court and against which no appeal has been lodged. Consequently, a certificate a finality cannot be issued in respect of a decision of the Supreme Administrative Court.

The date of a Supreme Administrative Court decision, together with the date of the administrative court decision, indicate the date on which the decision became final and the final outcome of the case.
